Both lipsticks deliver a major matte finish, but Velveteen is a liquid formula that Lisa calls “the playful, younger sister of my True Velvet Lip Colour.” It gives a soft-focus, diffused look, while True Velvet Lip Colour teams rich pigment with the subtlest 3D sheen, via a trompe l’oeil bullet that really, truly looks like velvet.
Yes, True Velvet is a long-lasting matte lipstick, giving you up to 10 hours of rich, vibrant wear. It’s also smudge-proof, budge-proof and water-resistant. Glide it on and it will not move.

I absolutely love this lipstick! Even though the shade Velvet Blush Lightly appears a bit darker on me than it does on the models in the product photos, it still looks beautiful.
The formula feels incredibly smooth and lightweight on the lips—never heavy or drying. Another standout for me is the packaging, which feels very solid and has a truly luxurious touch.

I was pretty much on the fence about this shade, but as many people were saying so many positive things about it and based on many on-line reviews, I decided to try. Given my skin tone and very dark eye circles, that is not a shade I can wear without at least some foundation. But with some foundation and concealer, this shade looks absolutely lovely: it is subtle, chick and **** at the same time, perfect for the office, or to be paired with bold eyeshadow. I just use it with some bronzer instead of a blush and it looks absolutely lovely. I highly recommend it. For reference, I use Lisa's foundation shade #15.

I love the velvet formulas, they are comfortable on the lips and long-lasting if you apply Lisa's technique (apply the lipstick with a brush, really pressing it on your lips, and then apply from the bullet on top). This color is lovely, it is fancy and **** hade at the same time, good for a low-key look or a perfect combo for dramatic eyes.
