My Favourite Brushes (updated) - From My Kit

Quite a lot of you have requested an updated Favourite Brushes Film (my last one was almost four years ago!).These are some of my favourite makeup brushes that I have in my pro-kit at the moment.

Sometimes on jobs I have to makeup ten models at once, so I mention quite a few brushes. For non professionals, don’t feel like you need all of the brushes I recommend in your personal makeup bag, this film has lots of tips on which brush to use for applying different products. I hope it’s useful and let me know which brushes are your favourite. X

My Makeup

As you can see, I'd been experimenting with dark lipsticks and glosses in the studio before I started filming! The colour I'm wearing in the video is a mix of YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Pourpre Divin 39, a deep, plummy-violet, with Lipstick Queen Seven Deadly Sins in Envy on top - this gloss is semi-sheer, so you could wear it on its own for a subtle wash of purple, or layer it over lipstick like I did to make a colour statement.

When you're wearing dark lipstick, blush is really important to stop you looking washed out. I used Cargo Water Resistant Blush in Bali, a pretty pink shade with a hint of shimmer that gave a fresh bloom to my cheeks - applied with Suqqu's Cheek Brush, of course ; )

I didn't want my eyes to compete with the strong lip, so kept it simple with a sweep of Topshop Mono Eyeshadow in Hematite, a shimmery silver that I thought worked well with the glossy lip texture. This colour would look gorgeous on all skintones and eye colours, and it's also the perfect shadow for party season! After giving my lashes a good curl with my trusty Shu Uemura curlers I layered a couple of coats of Lancôme Grandiose Mascara.

My nail colour is Essie Pearly White, an iridescent white with a hint of silver - I only applied one coat to keep it sheer.
