I'm not gonna lie, I'm still bitter about the discontinuation of Decade (both velvet and gloss), Velvet Midnight and Night Thoughts all the same time, and even though this shade isn't a dupe for either of them it is still gorgeous and can still fill a little bit the plum void left in Lisa's catalogue.

For comparison, it's much less opaque than any of her previous formulas, including the gloss. As for the colour, it's not as purple as Midnight or Night Thoughts. I guess it's most similar to the Decade gloss (which was my favourite gloss from Lisa), but that one was still more mauve and more pigmented, even when sheered out. Metropilis has quite a bit of brown and it's quite cool toned (a rarity among Lisa's lipsticks), so I like it a lot.

When it comes to the formula, it's very sheer even when built up. It's quite glossy at first, but that doesn't last. It soon settles to a more lip-balmy finish. It's also not slippery at all. On the contrary, it has quite a bit of grip, so on me the colour doesn't move outside of the liplines too much even without a lip liner. For reference, it's less glossy and slippy than the Hourglass Phantom gloss.
