The Lipsticks That Started It All…
I’ll always have a special place in my heart for my True Velvet Lip Colours. The idea for my beauty line began on a Teen Vogue shoot, where I applied real fabric to a model’s lips.
That iconic red velvet image inspired my three red True Velvets—my very first launch. Ultra-pigmented, plush and sumptuous, they’re the lipsticks that started it all, now cult classics and fan favourites.
I’m always striving to create unique shades, and my True Velvets have been described as ‘indescribable’ and ‘un-dupable’ which makes me very happy.
These saturated and highly pigmented lipsticks have a beautiful, true velvet effect on the surface of the bullet which looks exactly like velvet fabric. The saturated, technicolour formulation has a creamy texture with a slight sheen that’s 3-D and luscious.
"The Velvet collection is fantastic and I keep buying more. Love them and the confidence they give me…”

From soft, petal pinks to deep, red garnets... It’s easy to create either a one-swipe graphic lip statement, or pat on gently for a subtle, painterly lip stain. The creamy, lightweight, and non-drying formula has a clinically proven 10-hour wear.
My True Velvet Lip Colour in Velvet Ribbon is one of my favourite originals and now iconic shades… It has a sort of magic pigment alchemy which means that it suits absolutely everybody and makes the face just light up
"How is it possible to formulate a lipstick that looks and feels like velvet, while gliding on the lips so easily?"

Lisa’s Top Tips for long-lasting, True Velvet lips
For a long-lasting lip with maximum staying power, start by applying Enhance and Define Lip Pencil all over the lips to create a base stain.
Take your favourite Lip Brush and your Velvet.
Using the brush, apply Velvet in thin layers, working it into your lips.
Take your time and enjoy the ritual of painting…the idea is to create an indelible stain that lasts.
If you want to concentrate on reshaping your lips, apply your Velvet lipstick first, all over your lips following your natural lip shape - then step back look in the mirror and apply your liner AFTER. This really helps you identify the shape of your lips and adjust easily. When correcting with pencil apply it with small buffing movements and be sure to blend it onto the lips too for a natural effect.
Finish with one more application of lipstick all over.
