Alexa Chung - Beauty Breakdown from the British Fashion Awards

08 Dec 2017

Earlier this week I made up the gorgeous, uber stylish and hilarious Alexa Chung for the British Fashion Awards. Alexa was wearing an absolutely gorgeous dress from her own collection and we decided a 90's inspired bold berry eye and lip combo would be just the thing to compliment its pale dove grey/blue shade  - balancing the pretty delicate vibe of the dress with an edge.

Here’s my breakdown of the products I used...

BASE
If you’ve seen my tutorials with Alexa, you’ll know she has naturally amazing skin, so for base I applied a few light layers of Chanel Vitalumiere foundation and concealed under eyes with Lancome’s Camouflage Concealer. I also buffed and blended Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in pearl to create a subtle sheen on her cheek bones.

EYES
To create the berry eye look, I primed first using Nars Pro Prime and applied a wash of colour with the shade ‘Bossy’ from the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette all over the lid (and along the lower lash line) and blended the edges with 'Shy'. I then mixed 'Bossy' with a touch of 'Maneater' to intensify the colour at the upper outer edge to elongate the eye.

Then for an added bit of bling and to make the eyes pop, I used ‘Cosmo’ a warm chocolatey plum shade with copper glitter from the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette, patting with my finger in the centre of the lid.

For lashes, I layered Lancome’s Hypnose Doll Eyes waterproof in black and applied Ardell individual lashes. (For tips on individual eyelash application click here).

BROWS
Using Suqqu’s Balancing Powder, I brushed and defined brows, however I didn’t need to do too much as Alexa brows are incredible (remember, she was growing them when she made her first tutorial with me!). I used Glossier Boy Brow to finish.

LIPS
For lips, I used Lancome’s L’Absolu Rouge in Berry Noir, applying a light layer, blotting and then applying more light layers to make sure it lasted all night!

CHEEKS
Finishing off with cheeks, I sculpted using Kevyn Aucoin’s Sculpting Powder in Light and for blush I added a light swirl of  Tom Ford’s Flush
