The Hottest Fashion look for nails this Fall/Winter - The New French

After paying very little attention to my nails during the last few summer holiday weeks they were right out of shape and looking distinctly "meh". I badly needed a nail make-over and who better to put an emergency call in to than British nail supremo Sophy Robson. Her uber cool handiwork can be seen in all the glossiest magazines as well as strutting down the runways of Giles Decon, Louis Vuitton, Top Shop, House Of Holland, Vivienne Westwood, Ungaro, Loewe, Stella McCartney, Antonio Beradi, Roland Mouret and MANY more. Phew, see what I’m saying ...she is totally MAJOR when it comes to creating THE nails of the season.

Lucky for me, Sophy and I have worked together a lot over the years so she gracefully rose to the challenge of sorting my claws out.

The result: THE manicure for fall/AW - The New French. As Sophy points out, it’s a million miles away from the hideous footballers wife/glamour model staple of previous years ...this is cool, current, modern and chic. Its not about the colours or the fact that theres a coloured tip, what makes it new is the shape. A slightly pointed, oval nail with the smile line mirroring the shape, staying thin at the tip tapering right down the side of the nail (like a gentle V shape). Sophy chose beige and navy for me, which I loved, but you can do it in any of the great new Autumn /Winter shades around. Like wise the top coat ...I went for super shiny, but it would look equally fabulous with matte.
