Behind the Scenes at Matthew Williamson S/S 2012 show - with the winner of my competition!
I recently had a competition on here to win a ticket to the Matthew Williamson S/S 2012 show at the Tate Modern - courtesy of Suqqu, who sponsored the make-up for the show. The winner was also given a backstage pass to hang out with me and my fantastic team. This video gives a taster of what it was like for my winner, Jessica Nash. It also gives a feeling of what the atmosphere was like and a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes. Matthew created an absolutely beautiful collection, hope you enjoy watching this!

Chic & Simple 5 Minute Make up
I had so many requests for a tutorial on this look after I wore it for the 'New French manicure' video (and more recently, the fashion week 'Giveaway'). The funny thing is, I was running so late that day, it's ironically one of the quickest and least thought-out looks I’ve ever done on myself! Very little technique and expert blending is needed so it’s good for everyone including make-up rookies! You can adapt the look by adding eyeliner to make it look more done or evening. With all the rosy blush, highlighter and shimmery eyes, Its a really nice skin boosting look too. Pretty for day or night when you need to look polished and pulled together in a jiffy! Hope you enjoy watching X
Girls who are boys, who like boys to be girls....
Handsome, boyish beauty is big for this A/W. This trend for hair and make-up fits in perfectly with the tailored jackets, pared down tuxedos and modern take on leather thats around this season. The trick to doing this successfully and ending up looking like a very pretty, chic boy lies with the key areas ....skin, brows and sculpting. Watch this video for tips on how to pull of this fun and transformative beauty trend. Think Tilda Swinton, channel your inner androgyny and man up for the coming season!

Gallery Update - Elle UK
This Elle fashion story called for some serious old school pin up glamour with a modern twist. I started by bleaching our model Agnete's eyebrows to lift the heavy-ness of the lashes & liner on her deep set eyes and to create a sense of something stark and modern in her face. I dyed her brows back to their natural shade (a greyish brown) afterward. Not surprisingly, many models hate having their brows bleached as they look a bit scary on a regular day when they are not working and being made up. I always re-assure the girls I'll put them back to their former glory before they leave. Plenty of models positively love it though and have made bleached brows their signature. Its a look that's been around editorially (and for runway) for SO long now that its become less of a trend and more just another option of how you can work brows on a shoot.
Lisa Loves - Chanel Takes Over Harrods
On Monday evening I was invited by the managing director of Chanel Olivier Nicolay and Michael Ward, the managing director of Harrods, to an intimate and very fabulous dinner to celebrate the opening of Chanel's World.
The brand is evident all over the store, filling all of the 23 front facing windows with giant Chanel flags fluttering overheard, pop up store on the ground floor selling, amongst other things, Chanels interpretation of the famous green shopping bag and wellies! There is also a visually stunning beauty pop up stocking Peter Philips's special Limited Edition 'Knightsbridge' make-up collection, created especially for this event.
On the third floor however, is the piece de resistance, a museum worthy installation entitled Une Promenade.
Dramatic Metallic Smokey Eyes
Gorgeous copper, silver, gold and bronze eye make-up was all over the runways at the fall/winter collections. Metallic shadows are a great way of adding interest to a basic smoky eye. Go for it with a strong metallic look or for a more subtle effect just add a quick dab at the inner corner for an instant evening/party look.
The dramatic runway version of the metallic smoke eye I’m creating in this video can be easily adapted to make it more wearable by further softening and blending the edges and substituting the black shadow base and pencil for grey, chocolate brown, silvery graphite or even dark olive green.
Have fun and I hope you enjoy watching! X
