Gallery Update: LOVE Magazine Covers

15 Aug 2013 - Share →

Here are the covers I worked on with megastar photographers Mert and Marcus for the new issue of LOVE Magazine. There are 6 covers in total, the sixth featuring THE Minnie Mouse herself who arrived at the shoot straight from Disneyland Paris with her entourage all made up and ready to model! Each girl wore a set of Minnie ears made by different designers exclusively for LOVE .
All images are from the new LOVE Magazine Issue 10 which features loads of amazing fashion stories (including a few more I worked on).

Edie Campbell - wearing Minnie ears by Loewe.

Edie's make-up look was all about the super pouty 'cartoon' red lips. I kept her skin very natural looking using Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua, applying Clinique's Airbrush Concealer and Laura Mercier's - Secret Camouflage which were just neccessary to conceal. A little Chanel's Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder was applied around the lips and sides of the nose.

Eyes were defined using Lancôme's Hypnôse Custom Wear Volume Mascara on to curled lashes and, after bleaching Edie's eyebrows, I set them with Shavata's Brow Tamer.

On to lips.... I applied No7 - Precision Lips Pencil in Fire all over the lips first, drawing a new, bigger shape. Over the top I applied MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo using a lip brush and then finished off patting MAC's Pro Pigment in Basic Red all over the lips with a slightly brighter red pigment powder into the centre.

For cheeks I used Chanel's Creme Blush in Affinite 65 a super bright reddish pink to give a flushed cheek and complete Edies, cute look.

Georgia May Jagger wearing Minnie ears by Miu Miu

I used minimal amounts of Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk Foundation , Clinique's  Airbrush Concealer and Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage to even out Georgia's skin before applying Tom Ford's Shade And Illuminate in Intensity One to give a very sculpted, cut cheekbone.

Eyes were swiped with a pop of Kryolan - UV-Dayglow Aqua Colour in Orange all over the lids (again in a slightly carttoonish shape) and Kryolan's Blusher UV-Dayglow in Mandarin a chalky fluro powder, was washed over the top to give a hyper real, larger than life feel. To balance the dayglow orange I applied L'Oreal's Super Liner Gel Intenza in Pure Black 01 to Georgia's upper waterline and defined her lashes with Dior's Diorshow Extase in Black Extase 090.

Eyebrows were defined with Suqqu's Blend Eyebrow, 01 and for the lips I gentlly coloured a natural lip using Clarins Rouge Eclat in Petal Pink 03

Cara Delevingne -  wearing Minnie ears by Gucci

I had worked with Cara the night before this shoot, doing her make-up for the big DKNY party she was hosting in London so I knew she was going to have a late night! You can see that look here

Jessie prepped Cara's skin cleansing with Bioderma's Crealine H20 Cleansing Solution She then applied the SK-11 Facial Treatment Mask and left it to work it's magic for 20 minutes. Removing the mask and tissuing off the excess, the remainder was left to soak into Cara's skin.  To give her skin its gorgeous fresh glow back, Cara was then given a long facial massage with lots of Lymphatic Drainage movements using  Omorovicza's Instant Plumping Cream. I love using this cream on anyone whose skin needs a plumping treat .... jet lagged celebrites and sleep deprived models especially!  To finish the preparations a touch of SK-11 Eye Treatment Film was patted around the eye area. Cara did not wear any make-up at all for her cover - seriously!. Her brows were groomed and brushed through with Shavata's Brow Tamer gel to give them a glossy shine and lips buffed and shined with Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream .... that was it!!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wearing Minnie ears by Marc Jacobs

After skincare Rosie was given very much a 'No Make-up Make-up' look with a light application of  YSL's Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation followed by Lancôme - Éclat Miracle applied to the cheeks, cheekbones, brow area and upper lip to give her skin subtle highlights and sheen. I then used concealer just a little amount was needed using Clinique's Airbrush Concealer and Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage.

Eyes were treated with a very sheer veil of natural colour using Clinique's Lid Smoothie in  Ginger-ly 04. Lashes were curled and a tiny amount of No7's Exceptional Definition Mascara in Black was swept through for a barely there look. Brows were filled in lightly with Suqqu's Blend Eyebrow - 01

After a light touch of sheer loose powder I applied Benefit's Hoola just under Rosie's cheekbones to sculpt for definition.

Lips were smoothed with a hint of colour using  YSL - Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick - Nude in Private 09

Chiharu Okunugi wearing Minnie ears by Louis Vuitton by Jake and Dinos Chapman.

Chiharu's make-up look was more about graphic pops of colour than any particualr 'look'. For foundation I used Dior - Nude Natural Glow Radiant Foundation SPF 15 followed by Clinique's Airbrush Concealer and Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage concealers wherever needed - under the eyes etc. Cheek bones were chiseled using  Tom Ford's s hade And Illuminate - Intensity One

For eyes, I began by defining naturally to create shape using Chanel - Eye Shadow - Les 4 Ombres - Prélude 33 follwed by Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink just along the upper waterline and inbetween lashes. After giving Chiharu's lashes a good curl I used Cover Girl - Lashblast Volume Mascara - Black 805

On lips I used NARS - Semi Matte Lipstick in Heat Wave a bright orangey red all over first. I then blotted and applied MAC - Pigment - Neo Orange mainly at the centre of the lips for a bright velvety matte stain.

To complete the look I used Kryolan's UV-Dayglow Aqua Colour - Pink to draw on pink, fluro brows!
