Hi Lisa I was wondering if you could give some advice on moisturisers, my mum would like to know what high street brand mosituriser you think is the best for mature skin xoxo

cherrydipbaby123 - Wednesday 28th Jul 2010 8:27pm

@iluvpenguins007 korres makes a primer without sillicone and its quite good! i hope that helps! :)

iluvpenguins007 - Saturday 24th Jul 2010 3:49pm

its a shame i cant use a primer. i have uneven skin yet every one i try breaks me out. i think it's the silicone

TheSublimeAgent - Thursday 8th Jul 2010 8:24am

@careynvegas21 There are actually many amazing SPFs that also serve as primers...for instance, La Mer's SPF30 is a great primer and it offers full-spectrum protection.

beenu54 - Thursday 10th Jun 2010 1:42pm

Another fab video lisa. I love your videos they are so knowledgable. will be buying the daniel sandler primer as i too have oily skin and the clarins flash balm as good for special occasions I currently use the smashbox photofinish primer, great as it does minmise pores and no dry flaky patches, and leaves your skin better but found that i do get oily, so wanted to try somethign new

KerryMarie3 - Monday 31st May 2010 5:40pm

Have you tried the Becca SPF30 primer? im wondering if it's good for oily/sensitised skin?

melanzanify - Wednesday 26th May 2010 11:18pm

Hi Lisa! just wanted to know if you moisturize under the Laura mercier oil free one or the smashbox light? I have a very oily skin. greets from vienna

JustJessicaOx - Wednesday 19th May 2010 10:41pm

is the boots botanics radiance beauty balm been discontiuned, i've looked for it online after watching this and reviews have said it's discontiuned but that was about 3 years ago, wow i'm so confused xD x

careynvegas21 - Tuesday 18th May 2010 8:04pm

Since most primers don't contain an SPF I do have to use an SPF b/c I live in sunny Las Vegas..in your opinion what is a good SPF to use under primer w/o being too heavy?

guzbuz88 - Sunday 16th May 2010 1:25am

Hi can u mix primer and moisturiser before u put it on? Will it peel? Thank u! x

guzbuz88 - Sunday 16th May 2010 1:24am

styleopatamus - Tuesday 4th May 2010 8:34pm

Thank you so much for your videos. I only recently discovered them, but am really enjoying them so far. I do have a question for you - I like to wear sunscreen every day, but if I also want to wear a primer which one goes on first?

primpeony - Friday 30th Apr 2010 12:57pm

I have been into a few different Boots looking for the Boots Botanics Radiance Beauty Balm but haven't been able to find it. Do you know if it is still available?

ionisilviaa - Thursday 29th Apr 2010 11:25am

Hello Lisa! I'd like to know if I could use the mineral foundation (I use i.d. bare mineral) over the primer. Or should the foundation be only creamy-type? Thank you! Silvia xx

rwarnick1 - Saturday 24th Apr 2010 6:54pm

Many thanks for this, Lisa. I gave up on primers long ago because I never found them to work and my make-up continued to slide as usual. Now I skip the moisturiser as you advise and the results are fantastic - I can't believe the difference! Q: what do you think of the NuBo voile? I know it's a tad expensive but I'm willing to spend on items that are worth it. Thanks!

lisaeldridgedotcom - Saturday 17th Apr 2010 11:12am

@jollycakes its up to you. If your skin is very dry you may be happier with both. Personally I use only primer and choose one which suits my skin (combination) but everyones needs are different. You dont have to use both though. x

jollycakes - Saturday 17th Apr 2010 3:12am

So you either put on moisturiser or a primer, but never both? Is that correct? Thank you.

starvioletx - Friday 16th Apr 2010 3:54am

I love love love your videos, Lisa! I have watched nearly all of them all in one night and enjoyed them all. I find you really genuine and easy to watch. Thanks so much for the awesome videos :D I would love more tutorials! x

lisaeldridgedotcom - Monday 12th Apr 2010 8:50pm

@BENEFITBARBIE07 Korres do one. I havent tried it but I have heard good things about it x

BENEFITBARBIE07 - Monday 12th Apr 2010 7:57pm

Im allergic to silicone, are there any good silicone free primers? ox

lisaeldridgedotcom - Monday 12th Apr 2010 2:41pm

@mermaidviva I havent tried that one but I have tried the Make-up Forever one (which is probably similar) and thats good although not great for really oily skin as is quite moisturising. My video on sunscreens will go up on Thursday x

mermaidviva - Monday 12th Apr 2010 2:37pm

yea i have noticed that...its a pain tho cuz i love it but its got spf n i have to put one under it which is a pain......wat do u think of the mac prep and prime spf 50? was thinking about gettin that xx

lisaeldridgedotcom - Monday 12th Apr 2010 2:10pm

@ilmfml either is good but I think the refiner is better as a primer x

lisaeldridgedotcom - Monday 12th Apr 2010 2:09pm

@mermaidviva oh dont worry it wont harm you...I just think your skin gets used to it and it doesnt work so effectively thats all x

mermaidviva - Monday 12th Apr 2010 2:03pm

oh no y is it not good to use clarins beauty flash balm everyday? i do:S xxx

ilmfml - Friday 19th Mar 2010 10:11pm

Hi Lisa, I found the product Dr. Brandt Pores No more but there're 2 type: Pores no more Pore Refiner and Pores no more moisture. Could you advise which product is good as a primer? Thanks

Kathya88 - Thursday 18th Mar 2010 7:23pm

Hi, why wouldn`t you use the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm on a daily basis? Does it harm your skin?

twilightjlo - Tuesday 16th Mar 2010 2:41am

Thank you! You have been such a great help to me. I love your videos.

phosphoenolpyruvat - Saturday 13th Mar 2010 9:44am

great video! why wouldn't you use the clarins one too often?

LittleMrsMiddleton - Sunday 7th Mar 2010 5:48am

I want to be just like you when I grow up.

iPHANN - Monday 1st Mar 2010 2:11am

the pores no more is still sold

knockedoutbyafly - Saturday 27th Feb 2010 9:36pm

Thank you Lisa, this has definitely given me something to think about. Could you do a video on moisturisers? On how to apply, what sort to use, particularly with combination skin as it can be a mine field! Thank you!

pseud0nul - Saturday 27th Feb 2010 6:35am

You're absolutely incredible and that's so nice of you to share your knowledge with us ! Thank you so much. :) ( sorry for my english if I made mistakes, I'm french.)

veedebee - Monday 22nd Feb 2010 11:28pm

That was so helpful, I've definately been overcomplicating things and using too many products

lisaeldridgedotcom - Sunday 21st Feb 2010 9:17pm

@loveallabouteve Nars has some great products x

lisaeldridgedotcom - Sunday 21st Feb 2010 9:16pm

@CWebbiewoo yes there is definitely a bit of a technique with that one to get it to perform as it should x

lisaeldridgedotcom - Sunday 21st Feb 2010 9:15pm

@swcook2005 The Dr Brandt one is fab but its quite expensive. Ask if you can try it out on counter to check its staying power and effect for you before buying. good Luck x

lisaeldridgedotcom - Sunday 21st Feb 2010 9:14pm

@lauh88 I must try that x the Dr Brandt one is fab but its quite expensive. Ask if you can try it our on counter to check its staying power and effect for you. good Luck x

I really like YSL Matt Touch!

loveallabouteve - Thursday 11th Feb 2010 2:34pm

Hi Lisa, just another one ;): Nars primer (without silicon...better i think) love your videos, you are amazing and beautiful..!:) Have a great day.C

swcook2005 - Thursday 11th Feb 2010 2:06am

Hi Lisa..I have tried several primers..(Laura Merier, MAC, Lorac, Lancome) and all of them have make me look more oily like a robot... I have combo/oily skin and very large pores and after I use a silcone based primer then apply my foundation you can see little white spots on my face, especially my nose/cheeks where the product filled it through the foundation...Can you suggest a mattyifing cream/gel that wont make someone more oily looking??

CWebbiewoo - Tuesday 9th Feb 2010 3:11pm

Lisa I am so loving your videos! Having a little marathon on my day off :) I bought the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm last year, and couldn't get on with, was finding it was coming off in little rolls with my foundation. Now I know how to apply it properly I am going to give it another go! xx

moodeve - Sunday 7th Feb 2010 1:11pm

...very helpful! Thank you and I was an avid fan of primers until recently when I decided that a good moisturiser and SPF wld do - not both. So am in agreement with you. I had 1 question related - do you believe that oil control lotions are good? I tend to get an oily nose after a while and wld like to reduce that which a primer did better. I try not to put moisturise the nose that much. Thanks Lisa

lisaeldridgedotcom - Saturday 6th Feb 2010 6:56pm

@weebee27 I just discovered its not discontinued in the UK, just a change of packaging! Thanks so much for offering to send though, thats so sweet of you! Thank you for watching. Lisa x

weebee27 - Friday 5th Feb 2010 5:45am

Dr. Brandt Pores No More is my favourite primer too! Absolutely flawless. I still find my skin to be oily 5-6 hours into the day but this primer definitely outshines all others I've tried. It isn't discontinued in Canada. Let me know if you'd ever like me to send you some :).

KerryMarie3 - Sunday 31st Jan 2010 4:10pm

Please could you do a skincare routine?

lisaeldridgedotcom - Tuesday 26th Jan 2010 2:07pm

@DecemberKiki a lot of people of asked about this so I have posted something on channel comments. Have a look there x

DecemberKiki - Monday 25th Jan 2010 11:57pm

hi Lisa, Should actual primers (as opposed to moisturisers that we may use to prime the skin) be worn everyday? I heard that (specifically referring to silicon primers) they form a barrier on the skin, which I assume is good for minimizing oil break through etc, but not so good for letting the skin breath? What are your thoughts? I do want a primer because my foundation needs so much attention through out the day but wonder if for everyday use I would need to avoid the silicon ingredient?

lisaeldridgedotcom - Sunday 24th Jan 2010 3:01pm

@stellarstrawberry19 yes you can do the same thing with your tinted moisturiser. Thanks for your comment! x

lisaeldridgedotcom - Sunday 24th Jan 2010 3:00pm

@Lisasz09 oh cool! Thanks very much for letting me know x

Lisasz09 - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 9:16pm

hi there- I am loving your videos- I found you today. I will mentiuon that Sephora here in the US still sells the Pore No More product! :o)

stellarstrawberry19 - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 3:54pm

I have really dry skin and it's also really dull so i've been slathering on moisturiser AND a brightening primer every morning. Then my foundation doesn't look right and My skin feels really heavy and clogged. But I can't skip the moisturiser or the brightener. I never considered adding a highlighter to my moisturiser. I often use no.7 tinted moisturiser if i'm in a hurry, could i use the same trick with this? thanks for your videos btw I can't wait to watch them!

AntiCelebritynet - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 2:50pm

Thank you Lisa for clearing that up for me... what goes on when, moisturiser, primer, foundation etc- it's a minefield when you're a twentysomething with teenage skin, and like to get make up on quick. Definately going to investigate the multitasking products you've talked about and experiment with skipping moisturiser and going straight to primer :o)

nehmesys - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 12:03pm

I LOVE your videos! I always wacht them! :)

lisaeldridgedotcom - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 11:28am

@nehmesys silicon can also be found in the majority of new generation foundations, serums, some skincare, powder and cream eyeshadows and more. I think you'd be surprised how many of the make-up in your make-up bag contains it in some form or other. Silicon is approved for use in the cosmetic industry (its in many haircare products too) and has been rigorously tested worldwide. The cosmetic industry assures us its safe. My feeling is its fine but I hear what you are saying. Thanks for watching x

nehmesys - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 10:24am

I know that the silicon based primers are very dangerous for the skin... that's why i stopped using them! Most of the primer are silicon based... maybe ALL.
