This film is the second of three tutorials on how to do perfect Primer, Foundation and Concealer. How to choose the right foundation for you and how to apply it. I show you how I do it in this film. I hope you find it helpful.

MoveMyHipsMoveMyLips - Tuesday 27th Jul 2010 9:27pm

i absolutely adore all your advice (:

MsCMR80 - Sunday 18th Jul 2010 8:04pm

great vid Lisa! How would you recommend for the pressed powder foundation to be applied? I currently use the sponge it comes with, but is there a better or more efficient way of using this particular type of foundation? I use Chanel Matt Lumiere. Thank you again! ;)

starkingz1001 - Tuesday 13th Jul 2010 11:51pm

hi Lisa, i love your videos and they have helped me a lot. i have a sensitive and little bit of oily skin, am recently using sheer cover mineral foundation but its not really working for me. i want to know the best make up i should use.

onepurplelily - Tuesday 13th Jul 2010 11:31pm

I really enjoy watching your videos, always happy when I check my subscription box and see you uploaded a new one :)) what do u think it would be the best colour match for someone who's got darker neck, but face and chest are lighter, same colour?

monkeydance09 - Monday 12th Jul 2010 2:25pm

I have a question too :) so i have quiet pale skin and a really red/rose undertone to it... i have no idea how to even out that color...foundation doesn't help i can't wear any pink blush at all do you have any idea what i can do????!!

Lienke001 - Tuesday 29th Jun 2010 2:06pm

- I use a moisturizer (for dry skin) and let it sink in some time, I tried facial sprays afterwards, a primer but it doesn't help - at the moment I use Laura Merciers tinted moisturizer in porcelain over my normal moisturizer, so far this doesn't give me the powder effect, but this doesn't provide enough coverage for some events - I also have the same effect with concealer (I have bourjois + concealer palet, any recommendations? help would be appreciated, thanks and keep up the good work

Lienke001 - Tuesday 29th Jun 2010 2:05pm

hey lisa, another great video, I like your style, you're always explaining it so clearly - I was wondering whether you could give me some advice in my quest for foundation, I have taken roaccutane and my normal skin has now transformed into dry skin and the problem with foundations is that after an hour/few hours I get a bad powder effect (even though I don't use it) and it looks horrible, I tried La Mer's, Bourjois and By Terry but no luck

libbymoe1403 - Tuesday 15th Jun 2010 8:09am

thank you so much! this really helped.

lisaeldridgedotcom - Saturday 22nd May 2010 3:02pm

@katey0787 if you want to change the colour of your skin use something really thin like a tinted moisturiser so the difference will not be too dramatic around the edges (and its easier to blend sheer). There is a new Dior one I used for the first time on a bronzing editorial for Glamour the other day and its phenomenal. Its call pro youth skin tint and is part of the skincare range. Its expensive but it made the model look beautifully glowy without looking fake/too orange

lisaeldridgedotcom - Saturday 22nd May 2010 2:54pm

@CatSchmid They are both good but I find that I can find my exact shade in Chanel pro, not quite in the Dior. This is very important, so my preference is for Chanel. Also the Nude is a little more hydrating too - so good for skin which dehydrated/dry and less combo/oily.

lisaeldridgedotcom - Saturday 22nd May 2010 2:47pm

@whitalisci0us if you are really oily go for the matte lumiere. I'm oily to combination so I prefer the pro. Sometimes in the summer when my skin is oilier than usual I'll use Matte

LovePeaceandLipGloss - Friday 21st May 2010 4:40am

My first comment to you was ~ I think I love you...well, its official! Fab as always! xxG

whitalisci0us - Monday 17th May 2010 9:00pm

For very oily, acne-prone skin would you recommend the mat lumiere, or do you still like the pro lumiere better? Thank you so much! :)

CatSchmid - Saturday 15th May 2010 10:47pm

Love-love-love your videos! Looking forward to see more of them. And one question: Which foundation is better - Dior Nude or Chanel Pro Lumiere? Thanks in advance!

katey0787 - Monday 10th May 2010 2:12pm

I have really pale skin, my face can sometimes look a bit green/blue i guess because it's so pale it's almost see through. I used to use fake tan on my face and neck to sort of neutralise the colour but is there any other product you can reccomend like moisturiser that neutralises the dull colour. At the moment i'm using so much bronzer to make myself look alive! x

JessicaLou15 - Thursday 6th May 2010 1:45pm

@criostiona I totally second this!! I think it would be soo helpful if you could do a video on foundations for really pale skin. I have yet to find one for me!!

criostiona - Sunday 18th Apr 2010 9:40pm

Elfi0912 - Saturday 17th Apr 2010 4:48pm

Hi Lisa, I was just wondering if you had any advice about foundations for really really pale skin. I find it really hard to find one that isn't too orange and dark for my skin and would appreciate some advice. X

dazzling734501 - Friday 9th Apr 2010 2:46pm

dazzling734501 - Friday 9th Apr 2010 2:41pm

thanks so much!! you solved my problom i always hated foundations! but not anymore xo i just wanted to ask if you know how to solve the pigmentation probloms?

fojfojaa - Monday 5th Apr 2010 6:58pm

thats amazzzinnng i cant even tell if u put on foundation! and its so uniformed

Bbunner09 - Monday 5th Apr 2010 8:40am

this video has been so very helpful in my quest to find the right foundation for my combination/acne-prone skin! now if only the sales ladies at the various cosmetic stores would stop contradicting.. i went to clinique today and got recommended the acne solutions liquid makeup and while i jumped at the idea that it contained salicylic acid, the fact that she said i shouldnt worry about the color/shade uniformity of face to chest and face made me want to scream "But lisa eldridge said SO"!

danina4ever - Saturday 6th Mar 2010 3:06pm

My face is darker than my neck, as is yours, but my chest is darker than my neck as well. So what do I match my foundation to?

rocko83 - Saturday 6th Mar 2010 12:49am

Amazing!! Thank you! I just subscribed to you today! I love your videos! What is your opinion on EL double wear, nars sheer glow, and MUFE HD foundations?

annacoffee - Sunday 21st Feb 2010 10:25am

I think your advice about matching foundation based on areas of discolouration is brilliant; it makes so much sense. Many thanks for the information, please do make more lots more videos.

thrillah19 - Wednesday 17th Feb 2010 9:36pm

i love your make up style, looks minimal yet is sooo effective! im very glad i found your channel, as i am enjoyin all the 'basics' videos! i thought i knew all i needed to in regards to applying my foundation & highlighter, but you have shown us some great tips! i love how you explain *what* you are doing and *why* so i can incorporate your tips with my own products! :)

lisaeldridgedotcom - Saturday 6th Feb 2010 7:00pm

@susyq83 ideally yes as its a bit of a breeding ground for bacteria otherwise. Do your best but if you find you cant every single day, its not the end of the world :) When you can, invest in a second brush... that way you can wash them together every couple of days. Lisa x

luckyclover012 - Saturday 6th Feb 2010 6:55am

what foundation brush did you use in this video?

susyq83 - Tuesday 2nd Feb 2010 6:02pm

Fantastic video! I'm so happy I found your channel. :) Do you have to wash the foundation brush after every use?

MACuriosity - Tuesday 26th Jan 2010 2:35am

ChooLove09 - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 3:47pm

I've seen so many videos where people cake their foundation under their eyes and I've always felt bad that I can't (it seems to make my dark circles worse and sinks in to fine lines and ages me), so I'm glad I've finally found that someone else doesn't do it either! Thanks for the tips x

hollyYMBB - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 2:47pm

Love your videos, so helpful! Thanks Lisa :)

LenaKemp - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 2:46pm

very very good tutorials, a beau woman talks about important tipps and tricks and give us true comments about primer, foundation.... thats great!!! thank you! =)

lisaeldridgedotcom - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 2:06pm

@debbick1 no problem :) One of the things I find most annoying is trying to wait 'patiently' whilst my videos are processing x

debbick1 - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 1:44pm

Thanks. Now it is perfect. Sorry I didn't know.

lisaeldridgedotcom - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 11:40am

@loserlovers thanks for the great comment x

lisaeldridgedotcom - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 11:39am

@InbetweenTheReality thanks for clearing that up and thanks for watching x

lisaeldridgedotcom - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 11:39am

@debbick1 yes you are spot on @InbetweenTheReality, videos take quite a few hours to process out and even longer to become fully HD. Check back later. Thanks for watching x

InbetweenTheReality - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 9:42am

when vidos are first posted, the quality is crap because it's still processing.. watch it again and you'll see how HQ it really is

loserlovers - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 6:32am

Your videos are great! Keep them coming.

debbick1 - Friday 22nd Jan 2010 4:05am

Great video but lousy camera quality.
