Liquid Blush

I’ve had tons of requests asking me about the huge subject of blush - from where to apply it, to what shade to use to the best blusher brushes around. But rather than make one massive (and long!) film, I’ve decided to break the subject up into a series of smaller films - this liquid blush one being the first.

Liquid blush is great for a natural look, but the products can be tricky to apply, especially if you’ve never used them before. I thought it was best therefore to make this tutorial really informative and give you an overall understanding of the basics of liquid blushes so that you can work out which colours and formulations will best suit you.

The film includes six of my favourite liquid blush products. I hope you enjoy it, and I’ll let you know when I make the next one (creams and mousses) in the series.

Becca - Beach Tint - Peach

This has a lovely, creamy gel texture and is super easy to blend on all skin types. You get plenty of time to blend the edges and the finish is long lasting and waterproof so perfect for hot weather. Each one is also scented to its synonymous fruity name! Available in 6 shades.

By Terry - Rose De Rose - Sheer Liquid Blush - available in shades

This blush has a creamy fluid texture, which leaves skin with a really gorgeous, natural glow. Beautiful on dry or dehydrated cheeks as the shimmery finish imparts the skin with a dewy sheen. It has a high level of shimmer (comparable with liquid highlighter) so can emphasis large pores. Good for dry, normal and combination skin. Available in 3 shades.

Daniel Sandler - Watercolour

I love Watercolour as it’s really easy to blend and, once it’s on its waterproof formulation means that it doesn’t budge. It does ‘set’ but due to the silicone in the formulation you get plenty of time to blend your edges before that happens. Perfect for oily/combination skin and hot weather or situations (parties etc). Available in 7 shades.

Jemma Kidd - Rosy Glow Lip and Cheek Tint

This is a great, really sheer natural colour. Pretty foolproof in fact! The roll-on application also makes it easy to use as you can build the colour to the effect you want. Good for all skin types except for very dry.

Make Up For Ever - HD Microfinish Cream Blush

This insanely pigmented blush is easy to blend and gives the skin a fabulously healthy looking flush or colour. Be careful with this one though, as you only need the tiniest amount and then edges need blending really well with a brush for best results. Available in 14 great shades ranging from very natural to the VERY bright… so there is one to suit everybody.
