Gallery Update - Anna Kendrick

For UK Glamour Magazines 10th Birthday issue (can't quite believe its been 10 years!) I was asked to make-up super cute American actress Anna Kendrick for their fabulous 'An American in Paris' shoot. We were all excited by the prospect of photographing the 'Twilight' and' Up InThe Air' star in some of the most famous cafes, shops, streets and landmarks only to discover the forecast was for freezing temperatures, wind and rain! As predicted the first day was made difficult by torrential rain and freezing winds but luckily Anna was a complete trouper and an absolute delight.

Thankfully the second day was much drier in the afternoon so we managed to get most of the outdoor shots done. The mainstay of the make-up for all the shots were cute, flirty eyelashes and kitten flick liner. I changed the lips and cheeks depending on the mood of the photo and the outfit Anna was wearing. The lip colour went from nude to baby pink to bright rosy pink to full-on red!

Anna and I sneaked into Annick Goutals boutique in-between shots to try out all the delicious scents (and escape from the cold!). Smart and funny, she made the shoot a great one for all of us.

To see a behind the scenes video of the shoot click here.

Whats your favourite place to visit in Paris?

Whats a good choice of blush products to give a bride a nice glow in pictures without Over doing it.

Lisa, you are one of the best make up artist I have ever discovered for learning how to do make up. I had come across bad ones on youtube and bought a few products but since the day I discovered you I am grateful to you to having shared the tips for applying believable make up! Keep up the good work!

"...its hard to be intimidated by reality no matter how beautiful." What a great quote/idea/way to think. I think Anna seems really down to earth and funny. And her skin is to die for porcelain. I love the looks you did on her. I love the nudey pink color she is wearing in the last picture. And the blush in the first pic. So lovely. As always, LIsa.

Thanks for all the brilliant comments! I've made a note of the restaurants and places I dont know... thanks for your insight. Really happy you like the pictures (and make-up) so much too x

@Ara walking across the Pont Des Arts towards the Louvre is one of my absolute favourite things to do in Paris and one of the best places in my opinion. I also love Palais Royal, Le Marais and Les Jardins du Luxembourg x @Ramneet you have to go one day, I know you would love it X @Niah when I started out i used to get intimidated by how tall models are (especially when they have very high heels on and i'm trying to powder their noses!) As a make-up artist I get to see all these models and actresses without anything on their faces, their hair a mess and sometimes very tired/spotty etc. Its my job to make them look as the public is used to seeing them in magazines but i see them as mere mortals...its hard to be intimidated by reality no matter how beautiful.

I love the Serge Lutyens shop in the Palais Royale. It is so very beautiful. The new lipsticks are a gorgeous texture and the colours are exceptionally pretty. Being in that shop is like being in some kind of perfect dream.

Dear Lisa: You are a very attractive woman who works with some of the most beautiful people in the world. I know I would feel intimidated and/or lacking in some way. How do you keep your perspective?

After my fourth trip, I realized there is so much more of Paris that I have not yet seen and experienced. I always discover something new and leave there feeling as if I have been given a gift. A walk along the Seine, day or night, is always lovely. I've been to Paris in spring and in fall, and must say that I love the fall the most.

SusanS - Saturday Mar 12th 2011 1:00am
So lovely . Paris in the spring. Great Job Lisa

I've never been to Paris and the film showcasing this photo shoot made me fall head over heels for the city! I love the make-up, the clothes and all of the places that you went on the shoot. Anna's so gorgeous (sounds odd but she has such amazing teeth, ha!) I've heard the Eiffel Tower lights up every hour at night and was recommended to have a midnight picnic there : ) Must go! Lovely make-up, Lisa - again! A true inspiration, you bring out the beauty in everyone : ) Amanda x

Lucy Du - Saturday Mar 12th 2011 12:16am
she is so cute!!! but I love how you bring out the different beauty in people when you do their makeup. You always change it up, personalizing the makeup to the person and that's awesome!!!

Ramneet Bhathal - Saturday Mar 12th 2011 12:01am

I LOVE Anna Kendrick, she looks luminous here, great work!

72 Rue Bonaparte in St Germain des Pres! Laduree Schmaduree, "Pierre Herme" is your one-stop chocolate and patisserie pornshop and is a diabetics worst nightmare. If I could I would go in there naked and rub all the sweet stuff all over my body. You see more people window shopping at that tiny spot than at Galerie Lafayette.

Patricia - Friday Mar 11th 2011 8:19pm
Hi, I am French and I also recommend a picnic under la Tour Eiffel(unfortunately, alcool is now forbidden on the green so you can forget Champagne or french rosé!). I would add Montmartre streets, l'Institut du Monde Arabe, and le Parc de Saint-Cloud where you can embrace Paris from above.

Friday Mar 11th 2011 8:18pm
i love all the makeup in this shoot! so elegant.

Tania - Friday Mar 11th 2011 8:15pm

Chartier, Brasserie de l'Ile St Louis, Findi, rue Mouffetard, Didier Ludot, Restaurant du Palais Royal, the Escurial cinema, I could go on ... having lived here for 30 years the list is endless! Love this shoot, a beautiful, timeless elegance.

mary - Friday Mar 11th 2011 7:56pm

Friday Mar 11th 2011 7:50pm
I love a little restaurant in Place Dauphine (Rose de France), we ate outdoors such a good food! It's a nice memory =) Also love Montmartre, the whole quarter, so authentic =) Don't know... So many places, so beautiful magic points =)

Never been to Paris but always hopeful to experience people-watching in a true Parisien Cafe ;) The makeup definitely enhances the mood of each story - you have great vision. I was trying to see if I could find you in the video and all I got were glimpses of your always beautifully painted nails and your now trade-mark rings. Makeup artists are always overlooked, haha. You should know, though, that you have a devoted following yourself now!

Lisa Eldridge - Friday Mar 11th 2011 7:38pm
@Ashley I havent done that... sounds great, you are a true romantic ; )

Silvia Miteva - Friday Mar 11th 2011 7:36pm
